CanopyParalegal, originally known as SIPPS, was founded in September of 2004 and opened its doors nationwide on January 3, 2005.  On March 1, 2007, SIPPS rebranded as CanopyParalegal, a division of CanopyLegal, LLC, for paralegal and docketing services.  We are currently assisting legal professionals across the US with cost-effective IP paralegal and docketing expertise not normally available outside of a large or boutique firm, and in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean with IP docketing systems expertise and consultancy.

Lyza brings over 28 years in the legal profession, 15 of those years in intellectual property, to the CanopyParalegal table.  She has worked in some of the most prestigious firms in New York City and Atlanta, notably, Shea & Gould and White & Case in New York, and Morris, Manning & Martin, The Red Hot Law Group, and McKenna Long & Aldridge in Atlanta.  Since 1995, she watched the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and the multitude of foreign IP offices, transition from small, simplistic, postal-dependant organizations to massive, busy, high-tech sophistications with rules and filing procedures far too complex for the untrained, IP-inexperienced attorney or non-IP specialized paralegal.  The need for CanopyParalegal was there.  The next logical step was to open the doors.

Lyza lives in Suwanee, Georgia, with her composer/music teacher/artist/entrepreneur husband, Hudi Jay, and their six feline children.
